Introduction Post
Hi, I'm Jasmine!
Me on my 21st birthday. Source: My Instagram |
Hello! My name is Jasmine, and I am a psychology major and criminology major planning on graduating at the end of the semester. I plan on attending graduate school in the fall at, hopefully, the University of Texas, San Antonio and pursuing a PhD in psychology.
Currently, I live with four other people in a big house near campus, Adrienne (middle), Adriana (left, does she look familiar?), Xavier, and Cristian.

I also live with my roommate's dog Rey, my other roommates dog, Selena (sound familiar? ;)), and my two miniature schnauzers, Bear and Rifle. My fur babies are my life. They are from the litter of my parent's two dogs, Bella and Teddy. Here a pictures of them as babies and them now, two years later.

I have lived in Oklahoma for five years. I moved to Oklahoma from Italy. I lived in Italy for four years before moving. Italy was amazing. I was born there, but I hadn't been back since and was thrilled to get to explore this beautiful country.

My family is pretty normal. Growing up, I lived with my mother, Maria, my little brother, Martin Jr., my step-dad, Martin, and my step-sister, Victoria. I love them all dearly and am so sad to be moving so far away from them after graduation (my parents live in Owasso, OK).

Lastly, I wanted to mention one final piece of my life, and that is my amazing boyfriend, Freddy (I know silly name). I met Freddy over Spring Break of 2018, and we started dating in August. He lives in south Texas so we are 12 hours away from each other. Although long distance isn't the easiest thing ever, we are making it work, and I am excited for the future.

Oh hello Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteYou look very familiar! Well, I have a lot to say about your blog and the cuteness of Bear and Rifle. Your blog is very aesthetically pleasing, and I approve. You and Fredward also look very nice in your game-day outfits. I'll never forget the game day picture you posted of us when we kicked a rude boy out of our house. Senior year is off to a crazy start. Your whole blog has me feeling nostalgic. See you at home!
Hi Jasmine! I am also a psychology major! It is a wonderful career choice! How is criminology suiting for you with your Psychology major? Your fur babies are SOOOO CUTE! How was it like living in Italy? What was your favorite thing to do in Italy? Family and friends is definitely one of my top priorities as well!
ReplyDeleteHey Jasmine! First off, your pups are absolutely adorable! It sounds like you and your roommates have quite the fur-friendly home. I have always wanted to visit Italy, and that is incredible that you had the opportunity to live there for an extended period! Do you have a favorite part of the country? What would you say are some of the major differences between living in the U.S. and living there? Best of luck to you as you set out to pursue your graduate studies! My uncle is actually a professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Texas! So if you happen to have a class with Dr. Schnyer, you can tell him you went to OU with his niece :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine! That’s so cool that you’re majoring both in Psychology and Criminology. I’m a psych major as well, just minus the criminology! Have you decided on what you wanted to do with psychology after getting your PhD? Also, Rifle and Bear are so cute! I have two Pomeranians, Penny and Pia, and I don’t know what I’d do without them!
ReplyDeleteWe need to form a special chapter of the Psychology Major club for this class, Jasmine! I'm finishing up the Introductions today, and I think the last three or four in a row have all been from Psychology majors. Stories and storytelling are of interest to psychology researchers (I loved that book of psychology research by Pennebaker, The Secret Life of Pronouns ... who would have thought you could actually study the meanings of pronouns that way?! wow!), so hopefully you will find some good intersections between the reading and writing in this class and your psychology studies. And look at all the adorable fur babies ... including the cutie in the Christmas picture! Maybe you can add some cute pictures to the "Pet Padlet" -- Padlet Tech Tips, which is a fun way to do an extra credit Tech Tip thing. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so pretty. I love how you set it up! I wish I was tech savvy enough to do that to my blog. It is so amazing that you lived in Italy. I visited a few years ago, and I cannot wait to go back. Your pets are also so cute! I have a German Shepherd and he is my whole life, but I do not get to see him often. It must be so fun to have them live with you! Your family is so pretty. I look forward to reading your blog this semester!
Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteI’m also a psychology major and I absolutely love it. That’s great that you have an idea of where you’re going for graduate school, because I have yet to decide. It’s really interesting that you’re pursuing criminology as well. That’s amazing that you have lived in Italy! Your dogs are adorable and they are very photogenic as well.
Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteI was once a psychology major, but realized that it wasn't for me during my first year. I am now a Letters and Religious Studies dual major. Both of your dogs are so adorable! It is also amazing that you lived in Italy. Is Italian food disappointing here since you have had the authentic? Also, is it as beautiful as the pictures suggest?
Hey Jasmine! I like the way you created your blog! That is exciting that you are graduating soon. I am also graduating really soon, and it is kind of scary to think about, but hopefully great things await. I have always wanted to go to Italy, especially for the authentic Italian food. Your dogs are really cute! Being a college student has it been difficult taking care of your animals? I wanted to get a dog, but I just was not sure it would be easy to care of one while in college. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine! I was a psychology major but after three semesters of it, I decided psych wasn't for me! Now I am studying Microbiology! That is amazing that you were born in Italy AND was able to move back for four years! My moms side of the family is all Italian, my great-grandparents immigrated from Italy to the US and resided in NJ. I hope one day I get the visit Italy. Your dogs are also super adorable! I've also been in long distance relationships, as my boyfriend was deployed to Kuwait for a year. Its hard to do, but with todays social media and video chat platforms, its definitely doable! Best wishes to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine! I love how posted so many pictures you put on your blog and how cute your dogs are! You sound like an awesome person! It is pretty cool how you lived in Italy for four years and moved to Oklahoma! It must have been an awesome experience to live there too. I hope to travel there soon! And good luck on getting graduate school!
ReplyDeleteJasmine, you seem like a really fun person to hang out with! I feel like I just got a helicopter tour of the places you've been and the people that are important to you. You, as well as those around you, look really joyful. One of my best friends was born in Italy. and I'm always impressed by his fluency in Italian - it's really a beautiful language. Maybe one day I'll learn it! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine, hey hey, what's your favorite food? What middle school did you go to? What's your blood type? What about elementary? Do you have and aspirations? Any hobbies? What clubs were you doing? Did something interesting happen to you recently? Are there any artists you like? Do you have any siblings? I'm Jenon Fung! I'm not good at either studying or sports, but I want to get along with everybody! Let's be friends!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteIt is great to meet you. You and your boyfriend are so cute together! I am also a Psychology major! That is so cool that you are pairing it with criminology. I have always found it so interesting. I am super jealous you lived in Italy growing up. Are there any traditions they have in Italy, you enjoyed partaking in? Italy is definitely one of the places I hope to visit in the future. I hope you have a great semester!
Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteCan I just say your puppers are adorable! Good luck in grad school. I am also graduating in May, and I plan on going to CU Boulder for grad school myself. Also, I sympathize with the long distance relationship thing. At one point, my boyfriend lived here in Oklahoma while I was back in Wyoming, which is a similar drive. But it is possible to make it work! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this month. I wish you just as much happiness in your relationship.
Hey Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteIt is funny how I was just on your roommate, Adriana's blog! You guys were both on my randomizer. Your fur babies are adorable! I haven't been to Italy yet, but my brother says it is beautiful. I hope to go one day! Do you miss it there? You have a beautiful family and you and your boyfriend look very cute together!
Your classmate,
Joanna
Hi Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness your puppies are way too cute. I love that you had the chance to go to Italy, I haven't been out of the country yet but it is on the to do list for sure. I think that's so great that you will be pursuing your PhD in Psychology, such a great field that is so beneficial to the community. Good luck with the rest of your semester!
Hey Jasmine! Your dogs are so cute. How did you get them to pose together like that? That is pretty impressive. Criminology and Psychology sounds like a really fun and interesting pairing for your majors, and a PhD sounds as though it would be really fun. Hopefully that all works out and you get to go where you want.
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteYour dogs are adorable! My aunt has a Yorkie named Bear, he is 14 but he still acts like a pup. Criminology sounds fascinating, I am a psych major as well, what do you plan to do after graduating? I am planning on pursuing a PhD in psych also, I haven't decided where yet. You have a beautiful family! It was lovely meeting you.
Hi Jasmine, I enjoyed reading your introduction post!
ReplyDeleteSuper cool that you lived and were born in Italy! Thats a crazy scenery change, Italy to Oklahoma. I am from Texas just two hours away and I can't wait to go back! Nothing against Oklahoma, but theres not much here, haha. I see your roommate/s are in this class too. That must be fun commenting on each other stories and posts. I tried to get one of my roommates to sign up for this class but it ended filling up so quickly! This class is entertaining, but I am sure it is more entertaining when you have friends in it.
Hi Laura!
ReplyDeleteThose dogs are so cute! I love small, little dogs like that; I always get this urge to want to hug them super hard LOL. Also, it is so cool that you lived in Italy before you came to the states. You said that you lived you born in Italy but have only lived there for four years. Where did you live previously?
Hi Jasmine, your dogs are super cute. Also long-distance is hard! I admire that you guys are willing to do that and I wish you both the best of luck! Also congrats on graduating soon. What was it like living in Italy? I've always wanted to go, but have never been. Anyways, I look forward to reading more from you!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that you lived in Italy. I am truly jealous because I have always wanted to go to Italy. I saw that your parents live in Owasso. I am from Tulsa and if you head south down highway 169 you will end up almost right at my house. I went to Union High School. I wish you the best in pursuing your PhD in psychology. Do you know what kind of Psychology you want to do? My cousin is currently in grad school in Seattle looking to get his PhD in occupational psychology. I really enjoy taking to him about what he is learning.
Hey there Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice getting to know you through your intro blog! Your doggos are soooo cute! It's so cool that you lived in Italy. My goal is to someday take my mom there and just eat lol! I love Italian food. However, I've only had authentic Italian food a few times. So going to Italy would fix that!
Four dogs in one house, holy moley that sounds fun! The first dog I ever raised was a schnauzer, she's almost 10 years old now, unfortunately it's likely she will pass soon, but she was a wonderful fur baby with an amazing personality. I've always wanted to visit Italy, I can't imagine what it would be live to live there for four years, sounds so fun. I'm sure by that point you've got a good grasp of the language too!
ReplyDeleteHey Jasmine! First off, love the dogs. I am a huge dog lover, and I mean that quite literally as my dog is a huge 150lb. Great Dane haha. I am so jealous of your chance to live in Italy. I have always wanted to travel there, and I cant imagine living there for 4 years. I am hoping one day to be able to travel and live in places I couldn't imagine now, but hopefully college pays off and one day I can have that opportunity!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine, Nice to finally meet you! First of all, your pups are precious! They are still so small which I am sure is so fun! How cool it is you have lived in Italy and able to experience its culture for a handful of years! I would love to travel over there as I have heard it is gorgeous. My boyfriend is from San Antonio and although it is pretty different from italy and Norman I am sure you will enjoy it. Just get ready got for the heat! When there definitely go eat some mexican food at Alamo. We love their queso and tortillas.
ReplyDeleteHey Jasmine, what made you want to go into phycology? Congrats on almost graduating!! That is awesome that you are going to San Antonio, I will be attending Incarnate Word Medical school in the fall which is in San Antonio! I love Italy! What part did you live in? Good luck with the last couple weeks we have left and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, your pups are so cute!! My roommate Gaby has a dog like looks exactly like them. His name is Scottie. I have a dog too, her name is Bailey and she's a yellow lab and I love her so much. I think it's so cool that you've had the opportunity to live in such different places! I visited Italy a couple of summers ago and I absolutely loved it! Where in Italy did you live?
Hey Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your blog. The pictures of your dogs are so cute! I have really been wanting a dog and your pictures are giving me puppy fever! Congratulations on deciding to get for PhD, I’m sure it will be an amazing experience. I am also moving far away for to get my masters at the end of the summer!
